Cleaner Job In New Zealand

This is a full-time permanent cleaning role responsible for maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards across offices, bathrooms, kitchens, floors, glass, carpets, and common areas. The job requires safe cleaning practices, correct use of equipment and chemicals, attention to detail, teamwork, and professional conduct, with flexible shifts available and pay ranging from $25–$27 per hour for 30–35 hours per week.

1. Cleaning Duties

– Rubbish – The collection and disposal of rubbish, change/replace bin liners.

– Dusting – Dust, damp wipe, sanitise and polish sills, ledges, fixtures, fittings and furniture.

– Vacuuming – Vacuuming carpets, furniture, edges and corners.

– Hard Floors – Dust mopping, wet mopping, squeegee dry to remove dirt and build up.

– Glass – Spot clean, blade clean internal/external glass.

– High Dusting – Removal of dust and cobwebs from ceiling edge, air conditioning units, fan blades, light fittings and ceiling beams.

– Bathrooms – Clean and sanitise walls, fixtures, fittings, basins, toilets, urinals and floors.

– Kitchens – Clean and sanitise fixtures, fittings, benches, sinks, cupboard fronts, appliances and floors.

– Cleaning Cupboard – Clean and sanitise containment area and cleaning equipment.

– Stairwells – Clean and sanitise walls, stairs and hand rails.

– Lifts (where applicable) – Clean, polish, and sanitise doors, surrounds and internal lift areas.

– Stainless Steel – Clean and polish push plates, kick plates, panels, basins and benches.

– Burnishing. Machine scrub, strip and polish, buffing and burnishing.

– Carpet Cleaning – Steam cleaning of carpets, mats and furnishings.

– Stain Removal – The removal of stains and marks from carpets, floors, walls and surfaces.

– Colour Coding – Correct use of cloths, mops, buckets and contamination control.

– Environmental Act 1991 – Correct use and disposal of contaminated water and chemicals.

2. Health and Safety

– Abide by the employee requirements within the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992.

– Correct use of Personal Protective Equipment and Safety signs.

– Prevent and report hazards at all times.

3. General

– Any other cleaning duties as directed.

– To keep up to date on Crest practices and policies.

– Participate in any required training as instructed.
