Position Overview

This position plays a vital role in the Roads, Parks & Forestry Department by ensuring the efficient and secure transportation of deposits, mail, equipment, materials and supplies between various City facilities and other locations

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for this position includ.

  • Pick up and deliver supplies, tools, parts, and equipment from local businesses and surrounding areas as required.
  • Use the City Purchase Card and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with City procedures.
  • Plan efficient delivery routes using navigation tools and local knowledge.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections, coordinate routine maintenance, and maintain vehicle cleanliness inside and out.
  • Maintain accurate daily delivery and pick-up logs to ensure proof of delivery and accountability.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials, equipment, and supplies within the Roads, Parks & Forestry Operations Centre. Provide assistance in RPF stock room as required.
  • Provide job orientation and training to a designated backup to ensure continuity of service.
  • Assist with backup duties for other positions as operational needs require.
